In the narrative of our spiritual journey, the battles we face are often not about us individually, but about the grander scope of God’s plan and Satan’s desire to thwart it. Every challenge, every hardship, and every battle mentioned in the Bible has always been a part of this spiritual tug-of-war. It’s a warfare that is older than time itself, where Satan, the deceiver, recognizes the divine potential within God's people and seeks to prevent it from coming to fruition.
The Nature of Spiritual Battles
Scripture is filled with moments where Satan perceives a threat to his agenda and launches attacks against God’s people. These moments are not random; they are calculated. Each one comes when Satan, who can glimpse prophetic destiny, sees the potential that a life or situation holds. The massacre of children under Herod’s reign wasn't merely a tyrant’s cruel whim. It was a direct assault on the coming of Jesus, the Messiah, who would redeem humanity and destroy Satan's grip on the world.
Satan could “peep through the window of prophecy,” as it were. He could hear the whispers of the Holy Spirit, guiding and speaking into the lives of the righteous. He knew that the birth of one child could break centuries of darkness. That child could grow up to shake spiritual foundations, break generational curses, and bring forth light where there had been only despair. This is why so many of the greatest deliverances in scripture are preceded by barrenness, hardship, or persecution. The birth of Isaac, Samuel, and John the Baptist all came after seasons of intense barrenness.
The barrenness of Zachariah and Elizabeth was never merely about their personal struggles. It was about the birth of John the Baptist, the forerunner who would pave the way for Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world. John's birth was a key to the unfolding of God's redemptive plan, and Satan sought to hinder that plan by attacking at the root of their promise.
A Threat to the Enemy's Agenda
Satan's greatest fear is the rise of men and women who will, through obedience to God, disrupt his agenda and bring about God's dominion on the earth. Every battle you face today, every moment of opposition, is often connected to the potential God has placed within you. If Satan can prevent you from realizing that potential, he can attempt to derail the plan of God not just for your life, but for those connected to you and for future generations.
When Jesus was in the wilderness, Satan presented Him with an alluring offer: “If you will just fall down and worship me, I will give you all the kingdoms of the world.” (Matthew 4:9). This wasn’t about simply gaining authority over the earth; it was about dominion and transgenerational allegiance. Satan sought to divert Jesus from His mission to save humanity by offering Him a shortcut to power and control. He wanted Jesus to bow, to exchange His divine purpose for temporary gain.
This is the same offer Satan makes to us today. He lures us with the promise of worldly success, power, and influence—if only we would trade our allegiance to God for allegiance to him. Yet, Jesus reminds us in Mark 8:36, “What shall it profit a man if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?” No amount of worldly success is worth losing our soul, our eternal inheritance, or our place in God's divine plan.
Dominion and Deliverance
True deliverance comes when we reject the offers of Satan and fully embrace the path God has set before us. It requires discernment, vigilance, and unwavering faith. Peter warns us in 1 Peter 5:8 to “be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.” This means we must always be spiritually alert, aware that the challenges we face are not just physical or emotional but deeply spiritual.
The battles you face are about more than your personal success or failure. They are about dominion—Satan’s attempt to claim authority over your life, your family, your legacy. But you must remember that Jesus Christ, Yeshua, reigns forever. He has already won the ultimate battle through His death and resurrection. The power of Satan is limited, and his defeat is inevitable.
Isaiah 9:7 declares, “Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.” Only Yeshua will reign forever, and as believers, we are called to participate in His eternal reign by aligning ourselves with His will and purpose.
The Call to Resist
Deliverance is not passive. It requires active resistance against the enemy’s schemes. James 4:7 instructs us to “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” This means that deliverance comes when we submit to God’s authority, trust in His plan, and resist the temptations and deceptions that Satan places before us.
Each time we resist, we reinforce God’s dominion in our lives. We align ourselves with the kingdom that will last forever—the kingdom of God. Every battle is an opportunity for God’s deliverance to manifest, and through each victory, we move closer to fulfilling the divine destiny God has set before us.
The Promise of Personal Victory
As I reflect on this year, 2024 has been one of the most challenging seasons I’ve ever faced. I’ve witnessed so many attacks on God’s faithful servants—people who have dedicated their lives to His work, only to find themselves under relentless spiritual assault. I, too, found myself caught in the storm. There were moments when the weight of the battle was so intense that I had to step back, retreat into a period of hiatus, and admit that my faith was dwindling.
But in that dark place, when I felt furthest from God, I discovered something profound: His love was greater than my doubt. Even when I couldn’t see a way forward, God loved me too much to leave me there. He didn’t abandon me in my weakness. Instead, He met me in it. He reminded me that deliverance is not the absence of struggle, but the assurance of His presence in the midst of it.
If you, too, have felt the sting of this year’s battles, know this: you are not alone. The God who sees the end from the beginning has not forgotten you. Your season of hiatus, of questioning, of uncertainty, was not wasted. It was a part of the process. A part of your deliverance. And just as He brought me through, He is bringing you through.
The battles we face are real, but the victory is even more real. Deliverance is not just a story from ancient texts; it is the living, breathing reality of our walk with God. He is the One who lifts us out of the pit, strengthens our faith, and leads us into triumph.
So, I stand here today not as someone who has never been shaken, but as someone who has been held by the unshakable love of God. And that same love is available to you. Let 2024 be the year that, despite the battles, you experienced firsthand the power of deliverance. Because no matter how deep the valley, God will not leave you there. He loves you too much.
The Promise of Eternal Victory
As you come out of your season of hiatus, understand that the battles you have faced were not in vain. They were not just about you. They were about the divine destiny that God has placed within you and the enemy’s attempt to stop it. But take heart: the same God who delivered His people throughout history is still at work today.
In the end, only Yeshua will reign forever. His kingdom is eternal, and His plans for you are far greater than anything the enemy could devise. So stand firm in faith, be vigilant in prayer, and trust that God’s deliverance will bring you through every battle, into a place of victory and dominion.
Deliverance is your inheritance. Claim it, walk in it, and let the reign of Yeshua be established in every area of your life. For no matter how fierce the battle, the victory belongs to the Lord. Now and forevermore.
Shalom!
"For no matter how fierce the battle, the victory belongs to the Lord". Deliverance truly is the children's food. 🙌For many are the troubles of the righteous but the Lord delivers him from them all. Wow! I'm made aware of the fact that spiritual attacks and persecutions are never really about us but about interrupting the plans of God concerning our lives. Satan is against the agenda of God and that's why we need to stand firm in prayer and in the confidence of His might. Only Yah's will shall prevail. More grace, sister. May you continue being the voice of the Lord. We thank God for this wisdom. ❤️
