From Ashes to Glory: God's Redemption of Passion

There's a song that resonates deeply within my soul: "What the enemy meant for evil, God has turned it around for my good." Today, this song takes on a profound meaning in my life.

I recall growing up with an innate passion for writing. Words flowed effortlessly from my pen, capturing the essence of life's moments in journals that I meticulously maintained. However, as life unfolded, I reached a point where I decided to burn some of those journals, a decision fueled by the depth of the emotions captured within their pages. Little did I know that this act would extinguish a flame that once burned brightly within me.

In the early chapters of my life, I experienced a surge of creativity that led me to participate in writing competitions. The victories not only brought recognition but also tangible rewards—proper stationery, cellphones, and an iPod during the iPod era. It was a time when winning competitions meant more than just accolades; it was a manifestation of a passion that fueled my pursuits. Yet, as seasons changed and life unfolded, that flame began to flicker. The passion that once drove me to document every nuance of life seemed to dwindle. It felt like a chapter closed, and I found myself in a period where the vibrancy of my writing began to fade.

Fast forward to a fasting period last year, and God, in His infinite wisdom, began to rekindle that dormant love for writing within me. The embers of creativity were stoked, and I embarked on a journey of expression, pouring my thoughts onto paper once again. It was a revival—a reawakening of a gift that had long lain dormant.

However, as the year unfolded, I faced challenges that threatened to extinguish that newfound fire. The enemy sought to undermine the passion that God had reignited. Yet, in the face of adversity, I cling to the truth that I didn't send myself on this journey. I am a vessel, chosen and appointed by a living God, and even when the road gets tough, even when the enemy tries with all his might, I will not be silenced.

In the midst of trials, I turn my gaze to Jesus, the author, and finisher of my faith. Hebrews 12:2 reminds me to fix my eyes on Him, the one who endured the cross for the joy set before Him. In moments of doubt and discouragement, I draw strength from the fact that my journey is guided by a purpose greater than my own understanding.

I stand on the firm foundation that what the enemy intended for evil, God has a remarkable way of turning around for our good. This truth echoes in the depths of my being as I navigate the challenges that seek to derail the passion for writing that God has reignited within me. Through it all, I choose to lean on His promises, trusting that even in the face of adversity, He is working all things together for my good (Romans 8:28).

Today, I declare that the flickering flame within me will not be extinguished. I recognize that I am a vessel of creativity, chosen by God to express His glory through the gift of writing. Even in moments of difficulty, I find solace in the assurance that my Creator has equipped me with the resilience to withstand the attacks of the enemy.

As I continue this journey, I hold on to the truth that God's redemption is at work in every aspect of my life. What seemed lost or burnt in the past is being resurrected and transformed into a testimony of His grace. I stand firm in the knowledge that my passion for writing, rekindled by God's divine touch, will continue to shine brightly, a testament to His faithfulness and the power of redemption.

In closing, I echo the sentiment of the song that inspired this reflection: "What the enemy meant for evil, God has turned it around for my good." Through every trial, setback, and challenge, I trust in the sovereign hand of God, confident that He is orchestrating a beautiful masterpiece out of the seemingly broken pieces of my story.

Shalom!
